Learn about how to brew kombucha at Biologigargen, Copenhagen.With a little help from fellow kombucha grower and hacker Littlepinkmaker. and take away your very own starter kit to kickstart your first brew at home.
Kombucha is a raw fermented tea that boosts the body’s immune system and maintains a healthy gastrointestinal tract with an array of beneficial acids.The sugar-tea solution is fermented by bacteria and yeast commonly known as a “SCOBY” (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast). Although it’s usually made with black tea, kombucha can also be made from many other types of teas or even coffee. These ingredients are left to ferment in a warm environment for a period of time, leaving you with a delicious, refreshing and nutrient-dense drink.Biologigargen and Littlepinkmaker have been brewing it’s their own Kombucha for a long time and are both parts of the kombucha genomics project (you can read more here about it https://groups.google.com/
we’re keen to share how simple and straightforward it can be to ferment your own strain of the tea, and get creative with flavouring in the comfort of your own home!
The workshop will run for 2 hours, including a tasting session, your own liquid culture to take home and set of guidelines for brewing and experimenting with more teas, and flavourings as you feel.
You’ll also get introduced to the biohacker space that lies within SingularityUnordic, and have the option to become part of the community if you so wish!.
